File Converter Pro performs file conversions 100% locally in your browser. The extension does not upload your files to any server, does not collect or store personal data, and does not access your browsing activity.1. What This Extension Does
File Converter Pro converts user-selected files (images, documents, PDFs, spreadsheets, and data files) directly in the extension interface. All conversions run entirely on your device using locally bundled libraries. No files are uploaded to external servers.2. Data We Collect
We do not collect any personal data. The extension does not collect, transmit, or store:
- Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or identifiers
- Passwords or authentication information
- Financial, health, location, or browsing history data
- Keystrokes, mouse movement, or user activity tracking
- Your files, filenames, or converted outputs3. Files You Convert
Files you choose to convert are processed 100% locally in your browser using JavaScript libraries packaged with the extension. Your file contents are never uploaded or sent anywhere.
- We do not store copies of your files or converted outputs
- All processing happens on your device
- Files remain completely private4. Permissions
The extension does not request any Chrome permissions. It does not:
- Access your tabs or browsing history
- Store any data using chrome.storage
- Access your downloads folder (you choose where to save files)
- Make network requests or communicate with external serversThe extension operates entirely within its popup window and only accesses files you explicitly select through the file picker.5. Settings and Preferences
The extension does not save any settings or preferences. Each time you open the extension, it starts fresh. You choose your conversion settings (format, quality, etc.) for each conversion session.6. Third-Party Services
The extension does not integrate third-party analytics (such as Google Analytics, Firebase, or Mixpanel) and does not send usage events or telemetry to any third parties.
Note: The Chrome Web Store may show aggregate installation and usage metrics to the developer in the Chrome Web Store dashboard. This store-side reporting is provided by Google and is separate from the extension's behavior.7. Remote Code
File Converter Pro does not load remote JavaScript or external code. All libraries required for conversions are packaged locally with the extension:
- jspdf — PDF generation
- pdf-lib — PDF manipulation
- pdf.js — PDF rendering and decryption
- xlsx — Excel and spreadsheet operationsThe extension works completely offline.8. Data Sharing, Selling, and Transfers
We do not sell user data. We do not transfer user data to third parties. Since the extension does not collect any personal data, there is no data to share or sell.9. Security
Because all conversions happen locally on your device, your files never leave your computer. Your files remain completely private.
